Still puzzled, the door suddenly opened. It was Jackie returning with my mother-in-law.
Behind him was his first love, Riley Connor.
"Lilian, you know who she is, right?" My mother-in-law smiled and gave me a show of force as soon as she entered.
I stared at them, silent, eager to see what they were up to. Unexpectedly, my mother-in-law couldn't help herself.
"I just found out today that Riley has always been in love with my son. I think she's destined to have a son. That's all I'm saying. Either buy me an apartment as compensation, apologize to me, and take the initiative to cover my living expenses this year."
She paused for a moment, "Or, I'll have my son divorce you and marry Riley!"
"Okay, then let's get a divorce. Don't delay your happy event." I replied immediately.
Perhaps not expecting my immediate agreement, the determined look on my mother-in-law's face froze before it could even fade.
Jackie was furious. He rushed over, pointed his finger at my face, and started yelling, "Lilian, are you fucking having someone else? No wonder you're asking for a divorce! You're cheating on me, aren't you?!"
