I could only rely on this resentment and my remaining consciousness to watch everything unfold. That night, I watched with my own eyes as Timothea carefully placed the watch she’d ordered for me five years ago on Elmer’s wrist.
Then she stood on tiptoe and kissed him.
“Elmer, I know how much you’ve loved me these past five years. Don’t worry, our wedding will go ahead next month.”
Elmer’s expression brightened with reassurance.
“Then just promise me you won’t look for Bond again. After we get married, we’ll have a child and we’ll live happily as a family of three…”
With beautiful dreams in his heart, Elmer peacefully fell asleep in Timothea’s arms.
As he fell asleep, Timothea suddenly remembered something and got up and went downstairs.
She called her assistant. “I remember you said that the hotel cleaner was using Bond’s phone?”
The next day, Timothea received all the information about the hotel’s cleaner.
“Harper, male, 32 years old…” The assistant read the information.
Timothea’s brows furrowed as she listened.
“Ms. Johnston, we’ve already investigated. Harper has no connection to Bond. They probably don’t know each other.”
