After my death, I finally left that dark, cramped underground dungeon. Looking up from below, the dungeon was so cramped and dark that it didn't seem like a place where humans could enter.
Several amulets were plastered on the door, as they feared that the people inside would come out to claim their lives. But, unfortunately for them, they were useless against me.
A few rats squeaking noisily on the shore, eyeing hungrily at my corpse, while the water bugs that had gnawed at me day and night still hovered around, occasionally taking bites as if enjoying an endless buffet.
Even as a corpse, the sight before me sent a chill down my spine! And yet … at that moment, my husband was still preoccupied with his beloved mistress.
“Why do you look so pale? Are you tired?”
“It’s my fault for always making you suffer. I even made you apologize to that woman … something she doesn’t deserve! She wanted your life, but I only locked her in the water prison. It was a small punishment for a great lesson!”
I froze in place, unable to believe that he still didn't believe me.
