Stephan, you didn’t have to act like this. Everything was over.
On the day of departure, I simply packed my things, signed the re-drafted divorce agreement and put it on the bedside table. I also put aside another piece of evidence about Stephan's transfer of assets.
When I went downstairs, I saw Lilian nestled in Stephan's arms, smiling harmlessly.
"Aunt, you're awake! Look, this is the new dress my uncle bought for me."
I nodded with a fake smile and took a bite of the bread on the table. "Your uncle is so good to you. I have something else to do at the station, I'll go first."
Before I walked out, Lilian stopped me, "Aunt, take a day off today, we'll take you somewhere in the morning!"
I was just thinking of refusing when Lilian pushed me into the car.
In the car, she and Stephan were chatting enthusiastically. And I had nothing to connect with. Stephan and I were not from the same class, we met because of a case. His pursuit of me was still a mystery to this day. Now I knew that it was a trap set for me.
