At dinner, John asked the nanny to cook a lot of my favorite dishes. The food in the bowl was piled up like a mountain, but I had no appetite at all.
John put down his chopsticks and looked at me worriedly. "What's wrong, Monica? Is it not to your taste? Otherwise, I'll ask the cook to make it again."
I sneered and looked at John who pretended to be indifferent. "If I suddenly disappeared one day, would you look for me all over the world?"
John pursed his lips. "Why? Am I not good enough for you? If there is something I didn't do well, tell me, but can you please don't scare me with such words? You know, I can't live without you."
I shook my head helplessly. How could he not live? Without my obstruction, he and Jessica would only live better.
As soon as he finished speaking, John's phone suddenly rang in his clothes. He took it out slowly. When he saw the note, he suddenly panicked and walked directly to the living room.
When he came back after answering the phone, he told me shyly. "Monica, I won't accompany you for dinner. The company suddenly has an emergency meeting that requires me to attend. Maybe I won't come back at night."
