"I know," I tried to hide the pain away by smiling, but I could never deny that it hurts.

The pack’s healer told me I was still unfit to be discharged and that I needed to stay for a few days. And I agreed, even though I had many things to do since I was the mate of Alpha. I have many duties, such as the Luna of the pack.

But this time, I chose myself. If it were the old me, I would rush things up; I would beg the doctor for me to be discharged since I have to take care of things like Luna. And I have to take care of my mate–Lewis.

“Elysian,” Lewis called me, his eyes glued on the device he was holding.

“What is it?”

He looked at me with those eyes again, and I knew what he would say, "I-I have to go. Something important came up. You know I have many things to do as the Alpha, and emergencies like this are part of it. So you know... Just the usual thing."

I nodded, "You don't have to explain it to me." You said that to me a million times. I wanted to say that, but I stopped myself. I no longer want to show that I care for and long for him.

"I am sure the healer will take care of you. If you need anything, call me, okay?"

And in just the blink of an eye, my Alpha left me again.
