At the charity dinner, Caleb took me to the event fully dressed up and I clung to his arm, basking in the attention we naturally attracted as a couple. His secretary, however, showed up uninvited, crossing the line as she boldly took Caleb's arm as if she belonged by his side.

Caleb swiftly shook her off and reprimanded her loudly with a cold and irritated expression. "How shameless can you be? My wife is right here!"

In the eyes of everyone present, it seemed like he was standing up for me, protecting our marriage. Nevertheless, despite the display, I could not bring myself to feel any happiness.
