Emma dramatically clutched her hand and looked pitifully at Martin.
"Sofia, you've really disappointed me. Where's Auntie? I think I need to have a talk with her about our wedding plans."
Martin held Emma protectively, his eyes scanning the room.
"She's not here."
I found it absurd.
Mom had already turned to ashes, and he still didn't know.
"Not only did you cause a scene, but you even took Auntie away. Don't you know how sick she is?"
Martin frowned at me, his eyes full of disappointment.
I sneered without a word.
"Could it be she's not sick at all?"
Seeing my silence, Martin's tone turned cold.
"I told you she s been tricking you, Martin. Pretending to be sick to trap you, now planning to run away. All to force you into marrying her!"
"Look, the old woman even taught her daughter how to manipulate you, and now she's disappeared, trying to guilt-trip you!"
"She took advantage of your family's downfall back then, and now..."
At this time, Emma seemed to have discovered something and started to make a noise.
"Bang!"
Before she could finish, I stepped forward and slapped Emma across the face.
"Sofia!"
Martin was furious.
He rushed over, shoving me aside to protect Emma.
