On Our Fifth Wedding Anniversary, I Caught My Husband Lying1 Don't Look into the Past - Part One
1
On our fifth wedding anniversary, Maurice postponed all his schedules just to accompany me to see the golden glow over the mountain at sunrise.
He always indulged me.
It was gloomy before we went up the mountain that day.
The chance of seeing the sunrise was much lower than usual.
Maurice insisted on going up the mountain and said we would probably encounter surprises.
He stood by me and strengthened my thoughts all the time.
Before going up, his phone kept ringing, and I saw him reject the call several times.
Halfway up the mountain, his phone rang again.
"Just answer it. It won't take up any time."
There was still some distance to go before reaching the summit. We still had several hours left before the sun rose.
I was worried that the call was for an emergency at work.
But from the moment he answered the call to the point he hung up, my intuition told me that the call must be a private one.
Maurice had always been gentle and patient. Even if his subordinates made blunders, I had never seen him frowning with impatience like this because of a phone call.
