A chill ran through me, and without a second thought, I shoved him off the boat.

"Tristan, I warned you. If I survived, I'd make you pay."

Now that I had a second chance, I wasn't about to let his schemes succeed again.

Tristan struggled in the water, surfacing with a look of disbelief. "Amelia, what are you talking about? What's wrong? I'm your husband."

"Husband?" I scoffed. "What husband are you? Don't try to play the concerned spouse with me again. Do you really think I'll fall for it twice?"

I glanced around, quickly grabbing an oar and pushing him back underwater.

Tristan, you despicable man, you tore me away from Damien and destroyed my family. I'd love nothing more than to finish this myself.

When Damien arrived, this was the scene he walked into:

There I was, still in my wedding dress, using an oar to push Tristan around in the icy lake.

Tristan kept struggling to get back to the surface, his face turning a ghostly white from the cold.

Everyone stared in disbelief.

Damien was baffled. Wasn't Amelia running away with her lover Tristan? Why is she now attacking him in the water? Is she sure he's her lover and not her enemy?
