Jane's face froze. Apparently, she had even paid no attention to this because she had been keeping Matthew company, whose dog had died, these days.
How ridiculous.
In Jane's heart, my mother's last wish and my life couldn't even compare to Matthew's dog.
"Why did you resign? Just because I didn't go to see your mother? Matt's dog got injured so badly that it couldn't afford any more delays. Can't I go to see her at another time?"
Jane didn't care in the slightest and still thought I was being unreasonable until now.
I no longer had the slightest desire to talk to Jane and dodged her hand that was about to touch me.
"Then you can continue to take care of Matthew's dog. We'll have nothing to do with each other from now on."
I didn't want to waste any more time on Jane. I brushed past her when I left resolutely.
However, she grabbed me by my hand abruptly.
"I'll give you a pay raise. I was being careless this time. I'll go to see your mother next time. Will that do?"
Jane still believed I was throwing a tantrum because I was jealous of Matthew.
Honestly, I didn't blame Matthew for Jane's infidelity.
After all, it was Jane's fault for being unfaithful.
