But now, looking at the photos on the company's big screen and the excitement on Sophia's face, I pulled out my phone and snapped a picture of the screen.
Then, I quietly dialed the police.
My actions stunned Sophia. She looked to Matthew, who was hiding in the crowd, for help.
"Hello, police? I was drugged and taken to a hotel without my knowledge. Yes, I have evidence. I hope you can investigate and clear my name..." I said.
Before I could finish, Sophia angrily slapped my phone out of my hand.
The phone hit the ground, its screen shattering into pieces.
"Why are you calling the police? Are you out of your mind?" she shouted, glaring at me.
I innocently spread my hands. "You're accusing me of cheating, but I have no memory of it. The only possibility is that I was drugged. Don't worry, I'll make sure that person ends up in jail for life."
As I said this, I shot a meaningful glance at Matthew in the crowd.
Realizing I was serious, Matthew quickly stepped out of the crowd and tried to smooth things over.
