"And who will take care of Ella with me if you go back to the company?"
I found it funny.
I looked at Lucas's mother and said, "Did I say I was going to take care of her? Didn't you say that you were here to take care of her?
"I provide for her needs in terms of food, clothing, housing. And now I have to take care of her? Do you really think I'm some kind of sucker?"
Lucas looked at me angrily. "But now Ella is pregnant, and you let her stay here. Now you're going to work and don't care about her?"
I gave him a sideways glance. "I let Ella stay here because I felt sorry for her, not because I wanted to take care of her. Did I make her pregnant? She could have chosen to move out. You're so worried about no one taking care of her, why don't you stay here and take care of her?
"Or, is it that the baby in her belly has something to do with you?"
Hearing my words, their faces changed.
"What are you talking about?"
Lucas yelled at me.
Ella, on the other hand, looked pale and said pitifully, "Olivia, even though I'm living in your house and spending your money now, you don't have to say something like this to me. Lucas and I are innocent and you're accusing us of something like this."
