I worked hard in the company, just to get a small commission every month, so that I could give Nina a better life.

I didn’t dare to quit or rest. I didn’t even give myself much time for lunch every day.

But now, I finally had the confidence to resign.

"You want to quit?"

The boss raised an eyebrow and looked at me, with a faint smile in his eyes for some unknown reason.

I ignored the uncomfortable feeling and nodded.

He turned the pen in his hand and casually put my resignation letter aside. When he looked at me and smiled with his eyes narrowed, I saw the wrinkles at the corners of his eyes.

"Jacob, it's not easy to find a job now. Your wife hasn't been working, right? What will she do now that you've resigned?"

I instinctively frowned.

"Don't worry, boss."

But he seemed determined to care about my private affairs.

The boss stood up and walked over to me, patting me on the shoulder.

“Young man, it's common for life to not go well. If you have any disagreements with your wife, you should be tolerant of her.”

“After all, it's not easy to get married without a house or a car nowadays.”

There was an obvious smirk in his tone, which wasn't friendly.
