When everyone present heard what Yolanda said, they were all shocked and then began to whisper.
I raised my head awkwardly and saw Sam's angry face. Helplessly, I had to ask Mary to take Yolanda to the bedroom to rest.
Sam had been in the business industry for decades to achieve his current success and status. He valued his dignity very much. Now that something like this had happened, both Sam and I lost face in front of his friends.
Sam was old and in poor health. I was afraid that he might get too emotional, so I prepared to comfort him.
"Dad... Please don't be angry..."
Before I could finish my words, Sam's body shook, and he suddenly loosened his hand on the cane. Then he staggered and fell to the ground, holding his chest.
Everyone present was shocked and surrounded Sam. I rushed over to support him and shouted hysterically, "Call an ambulance!"
I met Yolanda in college. The first time I met her was in the school library. One day I wanted to borrow Robert Musil's book "The Man Without Qualities". The librarian looked it up and told me the shelf where the book was located.
