I chuckled softly, knowing well how little sincerity was worth in this world.
Sharon looked at me with pity and conflict in her eyes. I knew she wanted this child. Despite Ethan's antics, the child was innocent.
"Sharon..."
I feigned tears, looking tearfully at Sharon, pretending to urge her to ignore her compassion.
Ethan watched for a while, lit a cigarette, and then turned to Jessica crying. "My mom agrees. Get up. You shouldn't cry anymore."
Sharon, feeling guilty, immediately comforted me. "Olivia, you've suffered these years. But this child... You know, our family has always had only one heir. Another child means another heir, more support for Liam. Surrounding myself with grandchildren has always been my dream. Please, do this for me."
I nodded, appearing reluctant but secretly delighted. "Sharon, the child can be born, but I want Jessica out of here, never to see the child again."
"Fine, the child will be raised by me once born."
Three years ago, Ethan had a car accident.
