Ava had always been grateful to me, and she would visit me during festivals, addressing me affectionately.
After graduating from university, she couldn't find a job. So, I used my connections to help her secure a good job. When I introduced it to her, Ava smiled sweetly and said,
"Thank you, Ms. Donavan, but I've already found a job as Mr. Marshall's secretary!"
She affectionately held Eric's arm in front of me with an innocent and genuine smile on her face.
Slowly, the smile faded from my face.
My eyes slowly shifted downward, landing on the hand that was holding onto my husband's arm.
Eric noticed something was wrong, gently pushed her away, and explained, "Seraphina, Ava just graduated this year. She doesn't know any better. She's still just a child. Don't take it to heart."
But it was precisely this naive young girl who intentionally got Eric drunk at the company's annual party and took him to a hotel room.
That night, I waited for him at home, unable to sleep a wink.
Meanwhile, they were entangled in passion and intimacy in the hotel room.
The next morning, Ava called me.
"Ms. Donavan, Mr. Marshall got drunk last night. I sent him to Empire hotel. Please come and pick him up."
