In the past, whenever Eric's company had problems, I would come to help him strategize and overcome difficulties.
The employees of the company knew that the Marshall Group's success owed half of its credit to me.
I smiled and asked, "Where's Eric?"
The receptionist glanced nervously towards the inside and looked somewhat hesitant.
"Mr. Marshall is probably still busy..."
I raised my foot to enter, but the receptionist hastily stopped me.
"Mrs. Marshall, Mr. Marshall gave instructions that no one should be allowed inside. If you have any urgent matters, please let me know, and I'll convey the message."
I smiled gently and took out a divorce agreement from my bag.
"I'm here to divorce him."
As soon as the words fell, the whole company fell silent.
The employees at their workstations turned their gazes toward me in shock and began whispering among themselves.
The receptionist's jaw dropped in astonishment.
Taking advantage of her momentary lapse, I bypassed her and pushed open the door to Eric's office.
"Don't!" The receptionist shouted.
However, it was too late, as the door had already been opened.
