“Hello, Adrianne,” she greeted me with a fake sweetness that I was very familiar with.
The mistress had the audacity to continue to talk, “How are you feeling today?”
I glared at her with pure hatred as I yelled, “You’re just here to mock me, aren’t you? To see how I’m miserable here while you’re winning the Alpha?”
Olivia then laughed mockingly before she talked, “Oh, I’m not here for that. I just wanted to see how you’re holding up. Jeremy said you were ... um, what’s the word? Resilient. I wanted to see it for myself.”
She approached the cell. The woman stared at me maliciously as she continued, “You know, Adrianne, I’ve always admired your spirit. It’s what drew Jeremy to you in the first place. Too bad it’s all for nothing now.”
I would be lying if I didn’t admit that what she spouted really broke me. Still, I managed to control myself as I responded, “Oh, so you think you’re winning against me? Do you really believe you can replace me and Marianne?”
