"You think this is fun? Isn't that clear enough?" I asked.
Ashley quickly changed her attitude, holding my hand and adopting a pitiful expression. "Gregory, let me explain, okay? It's really not what you think!"
Ashley resorted to her familiar tactic of using a soft voice and acting cutely. In the past, I would have forgiven her regardless of her actions.
However, this time was different. She had crossed a line.
I forcefully shook her hand off, and she staggered a few steps and almost fell to the floor.
Isaac rushed over and pulled Ashley up, standing in front of her protectively.
"Gregory, you actually hit a woman. Is this how you define manhood? And Ashley has explained that we were in this meeting for business. Why didn't you believe it?" he exclaimed.
I couldn't help but sneer. He was truly protective of her!
As I looked at the two hugging each other tightly, a bitter feeling welled up within me.
I couldn't deny my sadness.
I had loved Ashley for ten years. However, no matter how much I loved her, I had to let go.
Ashley glared at me with wide eyes, her anger palpable.
"He is nuts and got sick things in his brain! Let's ignore him and go!"
