Dorothy nodded and then spoke, “Brother Hugo, can you also arrange one unit for me?”
For Hugo, a house was not much trouble, but for some reason, when he heard those words, he did not feel comfortable.
It was as if a sound inside his chest kept telling him: if it were Kiara, she wouldn’t ask in such a plain way.
He considered it seriously. During all these years, Kiara had never once asked him for anything on her own.
Either he pushed things onto her, and she accepted them quietly.
She had never opened her lips to request…
When Hugo didn’t speak, Dorothy felt a bit unsure and joked lightly. “Brother Hugo, you don’t need to feel pressured. I just said it for fun. As long as I’m beside you, I’m already satisfied. As for those outside matters, I don’t care much.”
Even though Dorothy spoke that way, Hugo still didn’t feel at ease inside.
Hugo said, “It’s only a house. Tomorrow I’ll let the assistant take you to see some homes. Pick the one you like and swipe straight away.”
When he finished, he gave her a black card.
It was his additional card. He had earlier given one to Kiara; this one now went to Dorothy.
