When I Love You, The Emotion Is the Most Pure1
After the exam, my head teacher, Mary Lewis, held the test paper and scolded me.
"Charlotte Mason, looking at your test results this time, you are third from the bottom in the class! You are about to graduate, you know? If you continued to be irresponsible for your life, you will end up jobless!"
Mary glanced at my test paper with disdain and threw it in my face. "Tell your parents to see me tomorrow!"
I was humiliated in front of the whole class, while the last and second-to-last students in the class were not only even mentioned because one of them was the niece of our school's vice principal, and the other was born in a government official's family.
"What about the other two people who got even worse scores than me? Why don't you tell their parents about the test result?"
I couldn't accept that Mary only targeted me.
Before this test, my right hand was injured due to a small accident, so I had to rest for half a month.
Even though I hadn't fully recovered yet, I managed to take the test with my left hand and couldn't even finish it when the time was up. That was why I got such a terrible grade.
