"They're just a pile of stranger's ashes, Emily. Why are you making such a scene? If you want to stop Milo from being buried, fine! You don’t need to do this! You're so disgusting!"

Evil as she was, Claire stepped forward, crushing the ashes under her foot.

"Go away!" I shouted as I stood up and pushed Claire so hard that she fell to the ground.

What happened next? Just as I expected, of course.

Andrew slapped me across the face for the very first time.

I didn't feel the pain though. My heart hurt far more.

"So you left Matthew alone just to harass Claire? Emily, you're crazy! How did Matthew end up with a petty mother like you?"

Andrew was livid, and he didn't stop.

"You like crying over stranger's ashes, right? Then cry. Starting today, I’m taking Matthew away. You don’t deserve to be his mother."

After saying that, he took out his phone and called someone. Probably his secretary.

"Tricia, take Matthew to my villa immediately, and don't let Emily near him. Are we clear?"

We were at the cemetery, so it was quiet. No one dared to talk, so we could all hear Tricia when she spoke.

"Sir Andrew, I'm afraid I can't do that..." she said, clearly hesitant.

Why?
