"Arthur, babe, what are you doing?" I asked him with a confused expression on my face as my lips pulled apart in astonishment.
"This seems like the perfect opportunity... to pop the question..." He then handed Nina the glass of wine without a second's hesitation.
"We've been dating for seven years, and I want to enjoy my life with you for the rest of my life," Arthur said as he kneeled in front of me and presented me with a tiny red box. He opened it in front of everyone and said, "If you could, please make me the happiest guy alive. "Will you marry me?"
Silently, my friends let out a sigh of disappointment. I knew my well-off friends felt so upset that Arthur proposed on my birthday. Others may think it's cheap, but I'm thankful for him.
I smiled and nodded my head. "Of course, I will marry you, babe!"
He delicately placed the diamond ring on my finger before standing up and planting a kiss on my forehead.
