When the judge asked Lucas if he wanted to stay, the boy looked around the room—at Emily, at the bikers who had become his strange family, and at Victor waiting quietly beside him.
“Yes,” Lucas said, his voice shaking. “I want to stay with my family.”
For the first time in years, the word didn’t hurt.
Family.
Outside the courthouse, motorcycles roared in celebration. Emily hugged him tightly, and Victor awkwardly ruffled his hair.
“Welcome home, son.”
Lucas closed his eyes for a moment, letting the sound of engines and laughter fill his chest.
Sometimes life doesn’t rescue you with angels or miracles.
Sometimes it rescues you with leather jackets, loud engines, and broken people who decide to give someone else a chance.
And that’s how a homeless boy discovered that even in the hardest corners of the city, something unexpected can grow.
A home.
A name.
And a family strong enough to change his future forever.
