“One of the problems was that Andrew was also leaking defence and military secrets- that’s now been hinted at by officials in Whitehall,” he claimed.
The biographer said he had long been aware of some of these accusations but was unable to include them in his book due to legal constraints.
“And in fact, I’ve now got access to various reports from American intelligence, showing that he had basically been subdued by Russian intelligence.
“So this story is getting bigger and bigger, and I’m afraid Andrew is getting into deeper and deeper waters.”
He also claimed that newly released Jeffrey Epstein files allow him to revisit previously excluded material.
According to Lownie, while serving as Trade Envoy, Andrew was “shoehorning in meetings for some of his business associates, asking ambassadors to fix these meetings”.
“He (Andrew) was bringing people, including his daughters, Jeffrey Epstein, and others, including a ‘point man’ he had called David Stern, who was inserted into his entourage – all doing business on his behalf,” Lownie said.
