“If I asked you to stay, I’d be undermining everything I respect about you.”
That was when she realized she loved him.
On her last night before departure, he drove her home—in the same black car.
“That was the best invasion I’ve ever experienced,” he joked softly.
Then, more seriously:
“I’ve fallen in love with you.”
“So have I,” she whispered.
“Then go,” he said. “Chase your future. I refuse to be the reason you shrink your dreams.”
One year later, she returned to Mexico.
No chauffeur. No media spectacle.
Just Gabriel waiting at arrivals.
“Invaded any more luxury vehicles overseas?” he asked.
“Not yet.”
He took her suitcase.
“I bought an apartment in Roma.”
Her breath caught.
“For us.”
Then he knelt—simple, sincere.
“Helena Torres, will you continue choosing your own path… with me beside you?”
“Yes.”
Today, she has finished her degree and launched her own strategic consulting firm. Gabriel remains CEO—but he is also her partner, her closest ally, her love.
Sometimes, after long days, she climbs into that same car.
He grins and asks, “Planning to nap again—or checking the plate this time?”
She leans back and answers,
“If it’s with you, I don’t mind snoring.”
And he laughs.
There’s no embarrassment anymore.
