Dust mites are tiny insects that love to feed on dead skin cells, which is why they are more  attracted to mattresses, pillows and all the padding we have at home.

However, in the long run they can worsen respiratory problems, as they act as allergens,  facilitating the development of rhinitis, asthma or other respiratory diseases. On the other hand, dust mite bites are considered harmless, however, they can cause itching, swelling and skin rashes.

How to whiten yellowed pillows and mattresses

You have probably noticed that over time  our pillows and mattresses tend to change from white  to a more yellowish tone, because when we sleep our body sweats and it seeps through the fabric causing these stains, humidity and the proliferation of mites. It is recommended to change the sheets at least once a week and  clean the mattress and pillows at least three times a year. In any case, we recommend following the specific instructions that each cushion has on its label and when we have finished cleaning it, check very carefully that there are no remains to ensure that it is completely clean.
