The monarch said that early diagnosis has allowed him to continue leading a full and active life while undergoing treatment. He expressed hope that sharing this milestone might bring encouragement to others, particularly given that around half of the population will face a cancer diagnosis at some point in their lives.

During the message, the king also encouraged viewers to make use of a new national online Screening Checker. He explained that the tool helps people understand what screenings are available to them, answers common questions and guides them toward taking that first step. As the festive season approaches, he urged people to reflect and make a personal commitment to early cancer checks, reminding viewers that their own life or the life of someone they love could depend on it.
