The celebration continued deep into the evening. But Tara felt tired. Peacefully tired. She sat in her favorite chair in the garden where the roses glowed in the late afternoon light. She watched Marina carrying plates. She watched Dustin laugh with neighbors. She listened to the joyful blend of conversation and music.

“Everything is in place now,” she murmured. “My daughter is safe. That lost young man found his path. This house is filled with love. I am ready.”

The setting sun touched her face with gentle warmth. She closed her eyes to enjoy the breeze. Then she saw a figure standing among the roses. A presence she recognized from her deepest prayers. Radiant. Kind. Calling her home.

Tara smiled softly. Her last breath was as gentle as a drifting petal.

When Marina came to bring her a slice of cake, she believed her mother had fallen asleep. “Mom. Wake up.” She touched her hand. The warmth remained, but the movement had gone. Understanding filled her. She did not scream. She only held her mother and whispered through quiet tears, “Go in peace, Mom. You have shown us the way.”
