• I leave a large glass of room temperature water on my bedside table (approx. 400–500 ml).
  • I add a small pinch of sea salt or unrefined, mineral-rich salt.

Upon waking:

  • Before coffee.
  • Before breakfast.
  • Before you talk to someone.

I drink the entire glass calmly, but without pauses.

Why I add a pinch of salt

The body needs electrolytes (minerals) so that water is well absorbed at the cellular level. That small amount of salt:

  • Helps to better hydrate tissues.
  • Helps restore balance after the night.

If you don’t like water alone, you can add a slice of lemon, but without sugar or honey in that first glass.

What I started to notice

In the first few weeks:

  • Less stiffness in my knees when I get up.
  • Less swelling in the hands.
  • Less dizziness when standing up.
  • The clearer mind much earlier.

An 82-year-old friend of mine suffered from almost daily headaches and felt insecure walking. She tried this ritual for a few days and called me surprised: the pains had subsided and she was able to get up without holding on to the walls.

It’s not a miracle trick: it’s hydrating the body at just the right time.
