“Mom!” Her younger brother hurried over to help Elianna up. “Sis, are you insane? Why are you hitting Mom?”
Amirah gave no reply, only struggling wildly, but against her father’s strength, she could not break free.
The others could only sigh in silence. Before the kidnapping, she had been fine, but after being released, she had turned mad.
Very soon, every gaze shifted toward me. In their eyes, Amirah had become like this because of me.
“Sevi, do you see? Just because you refused to pay the ransom, the kidnappers tortured Amirah into madness!”

Facing their accusations, I remained silent.
My mother urged me to take back what I had said. In her eyes, refusing to pay the ransom had already been my fault, and now that Amirah had gone insane, insisting on divorce was only pushing her into deeper despair.
I shook my head. “We must divorce!”
