"I'm done eating. You should leave, I have to practice now."
Ruth was urging me to leave, and I really didn't want to stay a second longer.
I was thinking the trip was fruitless when something happened.
"Hey Ruth, where is Alex? Why isn't he having lunch with you today? I was just about to rehearse a dance with him."
It was a young girl I didn't see earlier.
Ruth's hand shook, the cutlery fell on the table, and her face looked all weird.
"How would I know? He's probably eating in the cafeteria. You can look for him there."
I stared at her flustered look, asking casually, "Who is Alex? Why haven't you ever mentioned him? Do you often eat with him?"
Ruth looked even more panicked, with a hint of impatience.
"He's just a student. He's very talented. What's wrong with me being his mentor? Why are you so much today? It's annoying. Okay, leave now, stop wasting my time."
Her reactions proved that there was definitely something wrong between her and Alex.
But it was not a good time right now, I had to wait.
When I was leaving, I met the girl who had complimented on my food earlier.
