Lucas was sitting across from me, using a tablet to handle business, while Ella was sitting beside him, hugging him tightly.
They looked like a couple, while I was just a guest.
It would have been fine if things had remained this way, but Ella suddenly said, "Olivia, get me a glass of water."
Lucas and I both stared at her in surprise, not expecting her to be so direct in ordering me around.
When I didn't respond, she repeated, "Didn't you hear me? Get me a glass of water!"
I closed my computer and looked at her coldly, "Who are you ordering around here?"
Being glared at by me, Ella immediately looked weak.
She turned to look at Lucas, and then mustered up the courage again.
Ella said defiantly, "I'm pregnant now, and it's inconvenient for me to move around. Asking you to get me a glass of water is not such a big deal? Lucas, don't you agree?"
I looked at Lucas, waiting for his response.
Lucas said to me, "Olivia, it is inconvenient for Ella to do it now, so just help her out. It's not a big deal."
After hearing Lucas' words, Ella couldn't hide her happiness on her face.
I could only respond with a "ha-ha".
