Emma took advantage of Levi being out of the house several times and brought those pretty boys back to enjoy herself.
Then, when the servants reported it to Levi, she would shift the blame onto me. She said it was my boyfriend, and I was the one who brought him home for fun.
"Charlotte!"
Seeing that I didn't respond, Levi roared on the other end.
If words were a sharp knife, I had no doubt that his voice could cut me into pieces right now.
"Are you even listening to me? I'm warning you, don't think taking my son means you don't have to pay me back. I won't let you spend a single dime of mine!"
Emma was following the same path as the last life, trying to pin Leo's death on me again. That's why Levi kept insisting I took him away.
By now, Leo must have already died.
"Charlotte, did you hear me?"
A trace of sarcasm flashed in my eyes. "What's the use of calling me to find your son? Call someone in Martinez Mansion now. Maybe you can still catch a last glimpse of him!"
I hung up the phone and leaned back in my chair.
Levi was a fool with money but no brains. He wasn't worth my time.
