The next second, I heard my colleagues' panicked voices outside the office. Before I could react, Levi burst in with several men in black.
My vision suddenly went dark as someone yanked my ponytail. A sharp pain shot through my scalp, and my eyes filled with tears.
"Charlotte, did you really think I wouldn't find you?" Levi said, gripping my hair tightly.
I didn't expect him to make such a scene at my workplace. Thankfully, I had a private office, so my humiliation was somewhat contained.
"Where's Leo?"
Levi waved his hand, and the men started searching the small office. But how could a toddler possibly be hiding here? I crossed my arms, watching them with disdain.
"Emma said you took Leo out for the day and never returned. Now she's missing, too. Are you two playing me?" Levi said. His voice was laced with anger.
I shoved his hand away. The hatred flashed in my eyes.
"Just because she said it doesn't make it true. Do you even think for yourself? I have a job. I don't have time to babysit for a couple of lunatics," I said.
Levi's gaze was stubborn as he tightened his grip on my hair.
