This job was simple and wouldn’t attract much attention.
The boss interviewed me. He saw that I looked good, and let me start that day.
I had never worked a job before. On my first day, I didn’t expect to face discrimination in such a simple job.
“Hey, Grayson, go to the front. The manager is looking for you,” someone said, giving me a dirty look.
When I went over, the manager was sweating profusely.
Seeing me, he waved me over. “You’re just in time. We have a difficult guest. No one else wants to serve her. It’s up to you. Don’t offend this lady. She’s a rich client.”
I had no choice but to push the door open and ask her what she needed.
The girl on the other side stared at me for a long time.
“Why do you look familiar?”
“You must be mistaken. How could I be someone you know? Miss, what do you need?”
“Is your last name Miller?” She stood up and walked around me, looking me up and down in my uniform.
“I think you are Grayson, right? You were with the Turner family in Evolle City. I once saw you from afar at a banquet with my parents. You were with Miss Turner.”
