The father-son duo visited homelessness charity The Passage, where 12-year-old Prince George stepped into a royal tradition that runs deeper than most people realize. Following in the footsteps of his father — and his late grandmother Princess Diana — George helped prepare a Christmas lunch for those supported by the charity.

As Prince George grows older, it’s clear Prince William and Princess Kate are gently introducing him to the responsibility that comes with royal life. And this visit was more than just symbolic.

The Prince and Princess of Wales later shared a behind-the-scenes video on their official YouTube channel, showing William and George decorating a Christmas tree, laying tables, and serving food alongside volunteers.

But it was a small, unexpected gesture waiting for them that stole the spotlight.

When the pair arrived, they were shown the Christmas crackers prepared for the meal — specially designed with Aston Villa branding, the football club both father and son proudly support. The moment instantly brought wide smiles to their faces.
