The Passage’s Chief Executive, Mick Clarke, revealed the story behind the thoughtful touch, joking that while George supports Aston Villa, he himself is a Tottenham fan — putting him in “no real position” to tease.

He also shared that Prince William wasted no time joining in the banter.
“I was mercilessly teased by the elder — by William,” Clarke laughed, adding that the relaxed atmosphere showed how comfortable the prince feels at the charity.

Clarke also praised young George’s attitude, saying the future king was eager to help and “very much like his dad” — focused, hands-on, and ready to get stuck in.

But the most emotional moment came later.

In a separate Instagram post, the Prince and Princess of Wales reminded royal fans of the family’s deep, three-generation connection to The Passage. The post included two striking photos taken 32 years apart — one showing Princess Diana and a young Prince William helping prepare Christmas meals in 1993, and another capturing William and George doing the same this year.

A third image showed the charity’s visitors book, signed by all three generations.
